Our gowns are $1500–$4,500. They are all made to order, and the price includes alterations. Custom gowns start at $3000.

How long does a custom gown take?
We recommend 6-8 months. For less than 4 months, we will add a rush fee.
What makes a dress custom?
If you have a combination of design elements from various photos that need to be combined into one unique vision, this is a custom gown. We work with each client to combine their vision with our expertise to create a cohesive unique design.
During a custom appointment, we will sketch a silhouette and select fabrics that will work best to bring your vision to life. We will give you an estimate at the end of this appointment. A custom bridal gown starts at $3,000 and increases based on a variety of factors including fabric choice, the complexity of the design and anticipated number of fittings. If you let us know your budget at the beginning of the appointment, we can provide suggestions to help you stay within this range.
Will I try on gowns during my appointment?
Yes! We will spend the first couple of minutes going over styles that you’ve tried on (if you have) and seeing what you’re liking or not liking. Also looking at inspiration photos of what you want in your dress. We will then take the remainder of the consultation trying on our sample gowns so that we can pinpoint silhouettes that work for you and your body type. Trying on a variety of gowns can begin to give us information about what looks good on you, which makes the design decisions easier. Then, we’ll incorporate this information and your vision into a sketch that includes an estimate. If you decide to place your order that day, we will also take your measurements, give you a swatch of the gown fabric, and schedule your first fitting
Do you have dresses for women of all sizes?
Cicada embraces women of all shapes and sizes. In fact, creating silhouettes for real women is one of the things we do best. Most of our styles come in a full size range from XS to 3X. In the styling process, we can recommend styles to make you look your best. Since all gowns are made to order, your gown will be made in a size to fit YOU perfectly. So whether you’re fuller on top, tall, petite, or plus size, we have a style that will work for you.
Do you provide alterations for outside dresses at your shop?
Yes, we provide expert alterations at our boutique of existing dresses from other designers. Please fill out the form on our appointments page
Can you restyle a vintage gown?
If you have a vintage gown that’s been in the family and would love to wear it—or even incorporate a piece of it in your gown—bring it in. We love finding ways that we can transform a vintage dress into something new, that you will absolutely love, with a touch from the past. Please bring the gown to your appointment so that we can assess the condition and envision the possibilities together.
Do you work with two bride weddings?
Cicada provides a unique opportunity for same sex couples. We can work with both partners to create looks that complement one another. In addition, we offer discounts if both partners purchase at Cicada.
What are Cicada’s sustainability practices?
At Cicada, we are committed to conserving, recycling, and reusing materials in a variety of creative ways. For example, we recycle vintage wedding dresses and incorporate elements into new dresses. We use predominantly silk and natural fibers and recycle the scraps where possible to local school arts programming. All other off cuts are recycled in fabric waste facilities. We donate gowns to charity, including Brides for a Cause and Granny’s Attic.
