Cicada Bridal offers simply beautiful gowns that are handmade for the modern bride who loves vintage details, fine fabrics, and a fabulous fit. When Jennifer Gay and Elizabeth Klob started Cicada in 1994, they made hip ready to wear for the downtown crowd. The first wedding dresses they made were for friends and family—focusing on simple, classic designs that complimented the individual, as opposed to overwhelming them. Word spread and they opened their first store in 1996.
At Cicada every dress is made to order, to fit your unique shape. You can start by browsing our beautiful designs and then working with our designers to customize your style. Maybe it’s a bodice from one dress and the bottom of another. Or perhaps it’s changing the color of a dress or adding an ombre hand dyed train.
Or, you can start from scratch, because maybe your dream dress only exists in your mind. And here’s where our designers really shine—looking at your sketches and/or photos, talking with you, and then creating a design that incorporates your ideas into a cohesive look. At the end of your custom appointment, you will leave with a sketch, fabric swatches and an estimate for your gown

Cicada Bridal values ethically sourced materials and sustainable practice. A custom dress at Cicada is more affordable than you think…we believe that a beautiful dress should be reasonably priced. Our prices generally range from $1500-$4500 including alterations.
